Send Greetings cards on Festivals

Many companies world over have already switched to electronic greetings, customising their own video, audio and animated messages for the festive season. In the process, they are joining the growing millions of online greeting card users who are discovering the joys of transmitting their emotions digitally.

Electronic greetings are certainly a convenient, reliable, creative and climate friendly way of wishing people on a special occasion. As more and more people grow nimble on the Net, point-and-click greetings are gaining currency at the cost of postal mail, which often gets clogged up during the festive season. People are also realising that e-greetings are a powerful networking opportunity at practically no cost.

The special season of good wishes in India begins September end with the Navratras and carries on till New Year. So, there are cards to usher in Dussehra, Durga Pooja and Diwali all the way up to Christmas and New Year.

Literally every third day is a time to spread cheer what with e-cards available for Govardhan Pooja, Dhan Teras, Bhai Dooj, Guru Nanak's Birthday and Guru Tegh Bahadur's birthday.

Design is a key element behind choice of greetings and the digital cards are adding to palette of creativity in this sphere.

What makes some of these cards stand out is that they use the local art form and incorporate customs and traditions unique to us.

Users also have the flexibility to customise messages and add a musical touch. Apart from the festival cards, there are, of course, special cards for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and new births.

E-cards being embraced by everyone

In just a short period of time, there has been a sea change in opinion on e-greetings. Gone are the days when e-greetings were perceived as a last minute substitute for paper cards. In today's eco friendly times, e-cards that allow one to experiment with music, animation and video are considered with it, and have been steadily gaining ground over static paper cards.

Businesses which are being given a diktat to think sustainable are also becoming sensitive about usage of paper cards and restricting these to clients, sending colleagues e-greetings.

Of course, paper cards continue to do steady business, especially as many card companies have special green offerings, crafted out re-cycled paper, and are also growing through off-the-box ideas.
